NVIDIA and Coherent Corp. (NYSE: COHR) have entered a landmark multiyear strategic partnership aimed at advancing cutting-edge optics technology to power the next generation of AI infrastructure and large-scale data center architecture.

Under the agreement — which is nonexclusive — NVIDIA has made a multibillion-dollar purchase commitment, securing future access and capacity rights for Coherent's advanced laser and optical networking products. Alongside this, NVIDIA is injecting $2 billion directly into Coherent to fund ongoing research and development, scale manufacturing capacity, and support the expansion of Coherent's U.S.-based production facilities.
